Meet Your History Teacher

Lauren Elsberry holds a Master's in Pastoral Care and Counseling from Biola University. Ms. Elsberry is passionate about integrating culture and eduction. She believes in fostering a deeper respect and understanding of diverse cultures, helping student broaden their perspectives and develop empathy for those beyond their immediate sphere of influence.

Ms. Elsberry, spent 10 years working internationally with Youth With A Mission, dedicating her life to loving others in the name of Jesus. Through her partnership with Ark International, I helped advocate for the voiceless, working with children who had been trafficked.

After graduating with a Master’s degree in 2020, she was unexpectedly faced with a life-changing challenge: a diagnosis of stage three breast cancer. While the world grappled with the pandemic, she focused on navigating her own health journey, learning a new language of medical terms and procedures. These past five years have been a period of immense growth and transformation, where she feels she has earned a second degree—one in suffering and resilience. With hope and gratitude, she now looks to the future, believing that the worst of the disease is behind her. Ms. Elsberry is excited to step into the role of teaching with renewed purpose, and a deep commitment to bringing joy and determination into her work and her students' lives.
